The Notebook

I feel like it's been a long time since I was able to announce a preorder, even if it is only a few days. "The Hand Holding the Knife" is set to be released on March 15, but if you're just that impatient, it is available for ebook preorder right now. Still waiting on the OK for the hardcover edition. There may not be much of a preorder for it. Still, not scrambling at the last minute and being able to breathe for a few days feels pretty darn nice.

Similarly, "Lone Wolf" and "Synchronization" will be released in paperback the same day. I guess I never realized they hadn't made it, but with everything that happened last year, it obviously didn't even make it within a mile of my to-do list.

So this means that "The Hands of Time" will be finished. A second series reaches its end. And I've gotta say, it's kind of a sad ending. If you've read through "Synchronization," you have an idea what I'm talking about. If not, well, I won't spoil it for you. But the overarching story still continues. "The Chivalrous Welshman" has two more books to go, "Turning Point" this July and "The Eleventh Hour" next July.

Where does this leave us, then? Is "The Timekeeper Chronicles" almost finished? Eh..........no. Actually, it's only about sixty percent complete.

"Bearer of Bad News" Book One (of Five) of The Akari-Bearer, which follows Micah and Micaiah, will (should) be ready next spring, sort of taking the place of "The Lone Wolf" releases. For anyone who is worried, these books will be on the shorter side, comparatively speaking. We're talking 150k-180k words, not the 300k monstrosities that I've been doing. The reason is simply that these stories are, well, simple. They are less about major, twisting intrigue and more about the twins. It will also cover the drastic decline of the Akarin and how they got to be where they are in "The Hands of Time" and "The Chivalrous Welshman."

Then, once "The Chivalrous Welshman" is finished, the final* series comes into play. That one is called "The Fifth Horseman" and I am not going to say any more than the title and the fact that it will have five books. They are very likely to be monstrous bricks, so be warned.

For anyone who noticed the asterisk up there, I have a minor side project in the works. It is technically a "series" and it is directly tied to "The Timekeeper Chronicles" but it is not the same as the rest of the books. The format is different, the focus is different, and it doesn't quite fit with the rest of them in the same way. But that is far into the future and will be the tidy bow that wraps up "The Timekeeper Chronicles" and finally puts it to rest. (Holy crap, I never thought I would make it to this point of actually mentioning the end of TKC.)

So that's a quick overview of where and how things are. Go preorder "The Hand Holding the Knife." DO IT.
